Secondary school
CAMBRIDGE SECONDARY 1 (grades 6. 7 and 8)
The Secondary 1 programme is aimed at learners in the 11-14 age bracket and covers the three main subject areas of English, Mathematics and Science. This covers grades 6-8 at BOS which covers the middle school section. These areas have a clear scope and sequence leading to IGCSE, which are slightly adapted to meet the needs of the Azeri Ministry of Education requirements. Additionally, the curriculum:
• provides a natural progression from primary education
• sets clear learning objectives for the first three years of secondary education in English, mathematics and science
• is compatible with other curricula, internationally relevant and sensitive to different needs and cultures
• is appropriate for learners whose first language is not English
• gives you optional routes to use sections that suit your situation best
• focuses on learners’ development and provides schools with international benchmarks.
IGCSE (grades 9 and 10)
IGCSE stands for the International General Certificate in Secondary education, it is aimed at learners in the 14-16 age bracket. Baku-Oxford School offers a range of options at this level which lead to externally graded examinations at the end of grade 10. These qualifications are widely recognized by leading universities around the world. The syllabuses are international in outlook, but retain a local relevance. They have been created specifically for an international student body with content to suit a wide variety of schools and avoid cultural bias. The content, the structure and the administrative support mean Cambridge IGCSE answers the needs of more and more schools worldwide Cambridge IGCSE curriculum offers a variety of routes for learners with a wide range of abilities, including those whose first language is not English. It develops learner knowledge, understanding and skills in:

A LEVELS (grades 11 and 12)

Students develop a deep understanding of subjects, as well as independent learning and constructive thinking skills – abilities which universities value highly. A levels develop learners’ knowledge, understanding and skills in:

ATTESTAD (State Diploma grade 11)
It is mandatory for students following the Azerbaijani Ministry of Education programme to sit state examinations at the end of Grade 9 and Grade 11. In order to gain admittance to universities in Azerbaijan, students must be in possession of the Grade 11 Attestad Diploma, awarded on successful completion of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Education programme.
Aside from subject options chosen at IGCSE, students also must take the following compulsory subjects to complete the attestad requirements from grade 9:
